Termales del Bosque**

Termales del Bosque is located North of the country, in the Canton de San Carlos. The type of vegetation is known as "tropical rain forest", with temperatures of 24°C and precipitations up to 4000 cm a year. It was only in 1996 that the hot springs were exploited for tourism. These hot waters come to the surface after being filtered by the flanks of the now extinct Platanar Volcano and after they have been heated up on the veins of molten lava at temperatures up to 50°C. These springs are characterized by their relatively important mineral content and therapeutic virtues.

Hot springs

After a good walk in the forest on a clear and illuminated path, the visitor comes to a fresh water river filled with cascades and bordered by 8 thermo mineral pools that are both relaxing and therapeutic. The pools vary in temperature, depth and mineral composites. This marvelous experience takes place in the middle of a pristine rain forest as you can sip a tropical juice or even a cocktail. At nighttime, spotlights that are integrated and discreet enhance a pacific and romantic mood.
