Geography

There are elevated regions in the country, from altitudes of 1.000 to 2.000 meters. The Guanacaste Mountain Range, The Central and Talamanca Mountain Ranges are the main ones. There also exist many volcanoes (Arenal, Irazú, Poás, Rincón de la Vieja and Turrialba); Costa Rica's highest mountain is the Cerro Chirripó, with an elevation of 3.819 m. Costa Rica also has two coastlines, one on each Ocean, the Atlantic and the Pacific, along with a large number of rivers that attract kayak specialists from around the World.
